Pneumatic Ash Removal
Pneumatic Ash Removal
the removal of ash (soot blowing, deslagging) by means of an airstream. Ash and pulverized slag are transported from the slag bins of boilers by compressed air through slag pipelines to a cyclone dust collector, where they fall into a collecting bin, and the dust-free air is directed into a chimney flue. The air velocity in the slag pipelines during pneumatic ash removal reaches 30–35 m/sec, and the specific air discharge is about 1 m3/kg. Pneumatic ash removal is used in areas that have long and severe winters or limited water resources, and also in cases where dry ash and slag are used as a raw material in the production of building materials.
