Ulesov, Aleksei Aleksandrovich
Born Mar. 6, 1916, at the Generalovskii khutor (farmstead), in what is now Kotel’ni-kovo Raion, Volgograd Oblast. Production innovator in electric welding. Twice Hero of Socialist Labor (1952,1958). Member of the CPSU since 1947.
Ulesov graduated from a factory-plant school in 1934. He worked on the construction of the Tsimliansk Hydroelectric Power Plant and the V. I. Lenin Volzhsk Hydroelectric Power Plant. He also worked on the construction of the Aswan Dam. He took an active part in the development and introduction of the bath method of welding metals, which enabled his team alone to save about a million rubles a year.
Ulesov was a delegate to the Twenty-first, Twenty-second, and Twenty-fifth Congresses of the CPSU.
