Click the link for more information. . Pobeda Peakthe highest peak of the Tien-Shan; second highest peak in the USSR (7,439 m). Located in the Kokshaltau Range, 20 km south of Khan-Tengri. There are thick glaciers on the slopes. Pobeda Peak was first ascended in 1938 by L. A. Gutman, E. I. Ivanov, and A. I. Sidorenko of the Soviet expedition led by A. A. Letavet. The summit was named in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Komsomol. In 1943, Soviet topographers headed by P. N. Rapasov determined the true elevation of the summit, which was named Pobeda Peak.
