Location:9 miles south of DeSoto on Highway 21 in Washington County.
Facilities:26 basic campsites, 24 electric campsites, showers, special use area,11 cabins, picnic sites, 2 picnic shelters, hiking and backpackingtrails, swimming pool, canoe and raft rentals, boat ramp.
Activities:Camping, canoeing, rafting, river fishing, swimming, hiking, backpacking, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park features include petroglyphs that are believed to have been madearound AD 1000 and provide clues about the lives of prehistoric Indiansthat once inhabited this part of Missouri. Many of the buildings at thepark were constructed by African-American Civilian Conservation Corpsstonemasons during the 1930s, including stone steps that make up the1,000 Steps Trail.
