Win8 Apps screen

Every app (program) in your Windows 8 PC or tablet is displayed in the Apps screen. When new programs are installed, their icons are placed in the Apps screen. See Win8 abc's, Win8 Start screen, Win8 mouse tips and Win8 touch tips.

App Screen Icons

All the programs in your PC or tablet appear as icons in the Apps screen.

Retrieving the Apps Screen
To display the Apps screen, do the following:

Mouse
Right click any part of the Start screen's
background and click All Apps from the
menu that appears.

Touch
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen
and tap All Apps from the menu that appears.

Launching (Running) an App
You can launch an application multiple ways:

Keyboard
Type the app's name in the Start screen.

Mouse
Click a tile in the Start screen or an icon
in the Apps screen.
or
Display the Charms bar and select Search/Apps.

Touch
Tap a tile in the Start screen or an icon
in the Apps screen.
or
Display the Charms bar and select Search/Apps.

Copy the App Icon to a Start Tile
To copy a favorite app from the Apps screen to the Start screen, do the following:

Mouse
Right click the icon in the Apps menu
and click Pin to Start from the menu.

Touch
Swipe the icon in the Apps menu "straight down"
and tap Pin to Start from the menu.

Uninstalling an App
To uninstall an application, do the following:

Mouse
Right click the icon in the Apps menu
and click Uninstall from the menu.

Touch
Swipe the icon in the Apps menu "straight down"
and tap Uninstall from the menu.
