Windows SideShow

Windows SideShow

An auxiliary display capability for Windows, starting with Windows Vista, that can be deployed in different ways. For example, SideShow can be a tiny rectangular readout on the side of a laptop or a small screen on the lid. Lid-mounted SideShows can serve as multipmedia players when the laptop is turned off. SideShow can also be implemented in a separate device that is connected to the computer via wireless. Sidebar mini applications (Gadgets) can be easily extended to SideShow, and rich applications can also be created using Microsoft's SideShow progamming interface (API). See Windows Vista.
