core product-benefit

core product-benefit

the most important attribute of a product in the judgement of a particular buyer when considering the purchase of a PRODUCT. Thus one buyer of a motor-car might look specifically for style, another for comfort, and yet another for speed, so that each is seeking a different version of it. By identifying groups of consumers who are seeking the same core product-benefit, it is possible to undertake appropriate PRODUCT DIFFERENTIATION strategies. See CONJOINT ANALYSIS.
