Exe (ĕks), river, c.55 mi (90 km) long, rising in the Exmoor, Somerset, SW England, and flowing S across the Cornwall peninsula, past Exeter to the English Channel at Exmouth. Salmon and shellfish are taken from the river; many waterfowl are found along its narrow estuary.EXE/eks'ee/ or /eek'see/ or /E-X-E/ An executable binary file.Some operating systems (notably MS-DOS, VMS, and TWENEX) usethe extension .EXE to mark such files.
