Nikolai Sergeevich Bobrishchev-Pushkin. Born Aug. 21 (Sept. 2), 1800, in Aleksin District, Tula Province; died May 13 (25), 1871, in the village of Pokrovskoe, Tula Province. Lieutenant.

Beginning in 1820 he was a member of the Southern Society. Like his brother Pavel he was an advocate of the views of P. I. Pestel’. Before his arrest, Nikolai engaged in literary activity; he was known as a talented poet and translator. In exile in Siberia he went mad.

Pavel Sergeevich Bobrishchev-Pushkin. Born July 12 (24), 1802, in Aleksin District, Tula Province; died Feb. 13 (25), 1865, in Moscow. Lieutenant. Beginning in 1822 he was a member of the Southern Society. In penal servitude in the Nerchinsk mines he formed a religious congregation and preached mysticism.
