Endova

(also iandova), a table vessel used for pouring wine, beer, honey, braga (an old Russian national drink made from rye malt, dry kvass, hops, and sugar), and other beverages into goblets. Endovy date back to the time of ancient Rus’. The vessel’s use necessitated its heavy, unbreakable squat form with soft, rounded outlines and its wide neck and spout. Endovy were made from either metal or wood and were often decorated. They varied in size; large endovy held up to 1 vedro (12.299 liters).
