CHST10 CHST10 A gene on chromosome 2q11.2 that encodes a sulfotransferase which catalyses the transfer of sulfate to position 3 of terminal glucuronic acid of protein- and lipid-linked oligosaccharides. CHST10 participates in biosynthesis of HNK-1 carbohydrate structure, a sulfated glucuronyl-lactosaminyl residue which is carried by many neural recognition molecules, and is involved in cell interactions during development and in synaptic plasticity in adults. It is primarily expressed in the foetal and adult brain. |
