brimonidine [brĭ-mo´nĭ-dēn] an alpha-adrenergic receptor agonist used as the tartrate salt in treatment of open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension; administered topically to the conjunctiva.brimonidine A drug used in the form of eyedrops in the treatment of GLAUCOMA. The drug may be used when beta-blocker eyedrops are medically undesirable or when they are inadeqately effective in controlling the glaucoma. A brand name is Alphagan. |
