condom fatigue

condom fatigue

(1) Prevention fatigue. A term of art used by epidemiologists and safer sex educators, referring to decreased condom use due to an overabundance of safer sex messages.
(2) The increasingly cavalier attitude towards condom use by men who have sex with men, though the term applies to people of all genders and sexual orientations. Condom fatigue has been linked to increased rates of HIV seroconversion.
