Documents on the Foreign Policy of the Ussr

 

(Dokumenty Vneshnei Politiki SSSR), collections of documents on the foreign policy of the Soviet Union beginning with the Great October Revolution. They are prepared by the Commission for the Publication of Diplomatic Documents under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR. The first volume appeared in 1957. The series consists for the most part of documents from the archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Most of the documents are being published for the first time, including a number of Lenin’s letters and telegrams. In addition to official correspondence between the USSR and foreign states, the collections include some important documents from the correspondence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR and the Soviet government with plenipotentiaries, as well as a number of foreign documents. The documents are in chronological order. Each volume is supplied with detailed commentaries, a subject index, and an index of documents by countries. By 1972, 16 volumes had been published.
