clinical reference group

A generic term for a group of health professionals—e.g., cardiologists, surgeons, GPs, nurses, emergency clinicians, pharmacists, ambulance staff and clinical psychologists—who together aim to develop guidelines to promote best practice throughout a health network in the UK, keep all areas of the Network up-to-date with new developments in research, and make clinical recommendations to commissioning bodies on local services.
