Decontamination Machines

Decontamination Machines

machines for decontaminating and disinfecting military equipment, weapons, transport, uniforms, protective equipment, and terrain.

Decontamination machines are usually constructed on trucks; their special equipment consists of a tank for liquid decontaminants, a centrifugal pump, a pipe system, and hoses with sprays. The automobile filling station type of decontaminator can simultaneously service as many as eight units of large combat materiel transportation equipment. Machines intended for decontaminating and disinfecting uniforms and protective equipment have a device that supplies hot steam or a steam-air-ammonia mixture and chambers in which the articles to be decontaminated or disinfected are placed. Machines of the automobile filling station type are used for decontaminating or disinfecting terrain, along with suspended decontamination equipment, bulldozers, graders, and other machines used in agriculture for watering, spraying, and dusting.
