E game

'E' game

A technique used to evaluate visual acuity in young children. The letter 'E' is shown to the child, who is instructed to either state or point his or her fingers in the direction of the open side of the letter. The 'E' is subsequently rotated left, right, up and down randomly as its size is decreased, and acuity is obtained when the smallest letter is just recognizable. See illiterate E chart; Cardiff acuity test.
