Doshkol’noe Vospitanie

(Preschool Upbringing), a monthly methodological journal of the Ministry of Education of the RSFSR. Published in Moscow since 1928, the journal elucidates problems relating to the theory and practice of the upbringing of preschool-age children, contemporary problems of preschool pedagogy, child psychology, the methodology and didactics of upbringing and instruction in the kindergarten, the progressive methods of preschool institutions, problems of family upbringing, and the ties between the family and the kindergarten. The section “Criticism and Bibliography” contains reviews of methodological, pedagogical, and children’s literature and annotated book lists. The journal had a circulation of about 480,000 copies in 1972.
