[¦dəb·əl ¦sīd‚band tranz′mish·ən] (communications) The transmission of a modulated carrier wave accompanied by both of the sidebands resulting from modulation; the upper sideband corresponds to the sum of the carrier and modulation frequencies, whereas the lower sideband corresponds to the difference between the carrier and modulation frequencies.
