Eötvös constant

Eötvös constant

[′ət·vəsh ‚kän·stənt] (physics) A constant that appears in an expression for the behavior of the surface tension γ of a liquid as the temperature T drops to a critical temperature Tc at which the surface tension disappears, equal to γ(M /ρ)/(Tc -T), where M is the molecular weight and ρ the density of the liquid.
