Special Features:General John "Black Jack" Pershing was the highest ranking militaryofficer in United States history and was named General of the Armies ofthe US by a special act of Congress after World War I. Pershing grew upin Laclede, and his boyhood home, a Gothic 9-room house, featuresdisplays related to local history and to Pershing's life and career.The site also includes the one-room Prairie Mound School.
