Gegechkori

an urban-type settlement, the administrative center of Gegechkori Raion, Georgian SSR. It is situated on the Abasha River (Rioni River basin), 33 km northeast of the Abasha railroad station (on the Sukhumi-Samtredia line). The main industry in Gegechkori is food processing. There is a museum of local lore. The settlement is named in honor of A. Gegechkori.
