Adaev Horse
an indigenous horse of southwest Kazakhstan; one of the offshoots of the Kazakh horse. The breed was developed inGur’ev Oblast as a result of improving the Kazakh horse by crossing it with Turkmen breeds. It is well adapted to hot climates and herd maintenance. Its colors are gray, bay, chestnut, light bay, and dun, and its height at the withers is 136–140 cm. As a saddle horse and in harness, the Adaev horse is hardy and has satisfactory speed. It has long been used as a source of meat and milk; a mare produces 11–14 liters of milk per day.
