Order Plecoptera: many families. Young Atlantic salmon in streams eat mainly the larvae of aquatic insects such as blackflies, stoneflies, caddisflies, and chironomids.... The Permian saw the appearance of stoneflies, true bugs, beetles, and caddisflies, among other groups. Their findings can then be presented to government scientists for further investigation, or passed to national recording schemes for the three main groups of river insects: caddisflies, mayflies, and stoneflies.
