schedular adj
Middle English sedule a scroll or note, via French from late Latin schedula a slip of paper, from Greek skhedē papyrus leaf. The Middle English spelling was reflected in the original pronunciation /ʹsedyool/. The pronunciation /ʹskedyool/ arose in the 17th cent., along with the current spelling. The usual British pronunciation /ʹshedyool/, based on the French, dates from the early 19th cent., but did not catch on in the USA, where the lexicographer Noah Webster recommended that ‘the pronunciation ought to follow the analogy of scheme’. The influence of American English has now reintroduced /ʹskedyool/ as an alternative in British English
