Consuming more than four portions a week is a risk, suggests the study of nearly 1,000 French people, published in the journal Thorax.

It regularly criticises the use of France’s chronically over-budget social security system for foreigners, arguing that French people should be prioritised.

She added: “Even before this, 1.6 million French people were breathing in a level of nitrogen dioxide over European recommended levels.”
