Eumenides, n. pl. Mythol.|juːˈmɛnɪdiːz| [a. L. Eumenides, a. Gr. Εὐµενίδες (θεαί) gracious goddesses, f. εὐµενής well disposed, friendly.] Euphemistic name for the Furies (see fury n. 5 a). Also fig.
