The name of one of the Shetland islands, used attrib. to designate woollen articles knitted in certain designs characteristic of the island.

b. Fair Isle field mouse, a kind of mouse, an alleged (sub-)species (Apodemus sylvaticus fridariensis) of the field-mouse (field n. 19), found in the Shetlands, of larger size than the ordinary field-mouse.
