tonˈsillotome [irreg. f. L. tonsilla tonsil + -tome; cf. F. tonsillitome (Littré).] A surgical instrument for excising the tonsil.

So tonsiˈllotomy (now rare), excision of the tonsils; usu. applied to partial removal of the tonsils, in contrast to tonsillectomy.
