tranexamic, a. Pharm.|trænɛkˈsæmɪk| [Prob. f. trans- + hexane n. + amino- + -ic.] tranexamic acid, a white crystalline powder, C8H15NO2 , with anti-fibrinolytic properties, given in solution, orally or intravenously, in the treatment of haemorrhage (sometimes prophylactically); trans-4-(aminomethyl)cyclohexanecarboxylic acid.
