tropinone, n. Org. Chem.|ˈtrəʊpiːnəʊn| [ad. G. Tropinon (R. Willstätter 1896, in Ber. d. Deut. Chem. Ges. XXIX. 393): see tropine n., -one.] A crystalline alkaloid, C8H13NO , formally derived from tropine by oxidation of the hydroxyl group.
