One who loves his stomach, or good eating.
1820Sporting Mag. VI. 261 The glutton practises without any regard to theory; and we call him gastrophile.
So ˈgastrophilism [-ism], the disposition of a gastrophile; love of good eating; ˈgastrophilist [-ist] = gastrophile; ˈgastrophilite a. [-ite], fond of good eating.
