harvest-bug A minute mite or acarid troublesome during harvest; also called harvester, harvest-louse, -mite, -tick (see harvest n. 7). That common in England is a larval form of Tetranychus (Leptus) autumnalis; those in the U.S. are species of Tetranychus and Trombidium.
