hydrofluoric, a. Chem.|haɪdrəʊfluːˈɒrɪk| [f. hydro- d + fluoric. Cf. F. hydrofluorique.] Containing hydrogen and fluorine in chemical combination. hydrofluoric acid, or hydrogen fluoride (HF), a colourless gas, fuming in moist air and rapidly absorbed by water.
