proflavine Pharm.|prəʊˈfleɪviːn| Also -in |-ɪn|. [f. pro-2 + flavine.] A yellowish-brown crystalline solid, 3,6-diaminoacridine, C13H11N3, which is used, in the form of an orange-red hydrated sulphate, as an antiseptic.
