vallar, a. Roman Antiq.|ˈvælə(r)| [ad. L. vallār-is, f. vall-um or vall-us rampart. Cf. It. vallare, Sp. valar, F. vallaire.] Of a crown or garland: Bestowed as a distinction on the first soldier to mount the enemy's rampart. (Cf. mural a.1 1 b.)
