julienite Min.|ˈdʒuːlɪənaɪt, juːlɪˈeɪnaɪt| [ad. Flemish juliëniet (A. Schoep 1928, in Natuurwet. Tijdschr. X. 58), f. the name of Henri Julien (d. 1920), Belgian geologist: see -ite1.] A hydrous thiocyanate of sodium and cobalt, Na2Co(SCN)4.8H2O, that occurs as minute blue needles and has been made artificially; orig. wrongly regarded as a cobalt chloro-nitrate.
