[Chinese.]
A kind of stove for warming rooms used by the Chinese; also, a brick or wooden erection for sleeping upon, warmed by a fire placed underneath.
1770Acc. of the Kang in Phil. Trans. LXI. 62 The parts of a Kang are, 1. a furnace; 2. a pipe for the heat [etc.]. 1870Mem. W. C.
