knopite Min.|ˈnɒpaɪt, ˈknɒpaɪt| [ad. Sw. knopit (P. J. Holmquist 1894, in Geol. För. Förh. XVI. 73), f. the name of Adolf Knop (1828–93), Ger. mineralogist: see -ite1.] A variety of perofskite occurring in lead-grey crystals, in which calcium is partly replaced by cerium.
