ˈwinter-ˌfallow, n. [Cf. MLG. wintervalligen, G. winterfalgen.] A lying fallow, or land that lies fallow, during the winter. So ˈwinter-ˌfallow v., trans. to lay (land) fallow during the winter; hence ˈwinter-ˌfallowing vbl. n.
