‖ lapilli, n. pl.|ləˈpɪlaɪ| [L., pl. of lapillus, dim. of lapis stone. In the specific sense orig. the plural of It. lapillo.] Small stones or pebbles; now only spec. of the fragments of stone ejected from volcanoes.
