methacholine, n. Pharm.|mɛθəˈkəʊliːn| [f. meth- + -a- + choline n.] A parasympathomimetic choline derivative which can produce bronchoconstriction in hypersensitive patients and is used as a challenge in diagnostic tests for subclinical or incipient asthma; O-acetyl-β-methylcholine, C8H18ClNO2 .
