methylic, a. Chem.|mɪˈθɪlɪk| [Orig. f. methylene) + -ic; the term methyl, to which the adj. was afterwards more normally referred, was introduced somewhat later. Cf. F. méthylique.] Of or pertaining to methyl. Chiefly in names of compounds, in which methyl is more commonly used attributively.
