‖ mezzo-soprano, n. and a. Mus.|ˌmɛdzəʊsəˈprɑːnəʊ, -ts-| [It.: see mezzo a. and soprano.] a. The part intermediate in compass between the soprano and contralto; b. a voice of this pitch or compass; c. a person having such a voice.
