Sp. parilla (see sarsaparilla), Pg. parrilha, It. pariglia + -in1.] A white or colourless, inodorous, crystalline substance (C40H70O18) obtained from sarsaparilla-root; also called paˈrillic acid, salsaparin, sarsaparillin, sarsaparilla-saponin, or smilacin.
