Pekin(g)ese, n. and a.|piːkɪˈniːz, piːkɪˈŋiːz| [f. Pekin(g) (see Peking) + -ese.] A. n. a. A native or inhabitant of Peking. b. The form of Chinese used in Peking. c. A Pekingese dog. B. adj. Of or pertaining to Peking; applied esp. to a breed of dwarf pug-dogs with long, silky hair, obtained originally from the Imperial Palace at Peking; Pekingese stitch, a stitch in embroidery.
