perule Bot.|ˈpɛr(j)ʊl| [a. F. pérule, ad. mod.L. pērula, dim. of pēra, a. Gr. πήρα purse, wallet.] †a. The covering of a seed. Obs. b. Applied, after Mirbel and Zuccharini, to the scaly covering of a leaf-bud. c. Applied, after L. C. Richard, to a kind of sac formed by the adherent bases of the two lateral sepals in certain Orchideæ.
