XXX. 245 When the northern face of this mountain is viewed from a little distance, the whole mass presents the appearance of being made up of a number of concentrically curved beds. This pseudo-stratified appearance is..very frequently presented by masses of undoubted igneous origin. 1940Trans. Geol. Soc. S. Afr. XLII. 59 The rocks in this area are very clearly pseudostratified and form hilly country. 2. Histology. Applied to epithelium composed of a single layer of columnar cells each in contact with the basal lamina but whose nuclei are at varying distances from it, so that they give the appearance of several layers of cells.
