‖ réclame|reklam| [Fr., f. réclamer: see reclaim v.] The attainment of notoriety by ‘puff’ or advertisement. Also, popular acclaim, notoriety, glory, fame. In quot. 1870 the sense seems to be ‘an advertisement’.
