sciænoid, a. and n. Ichth.|saɪˈiːnɔɪd| [f. sciæn-a + -oid. Cf. F. sciénoïde.] a. adj. Belonging to, characteristic of or resembling a sciænoid or the sciænoids. b. n. A fish of the family Sciænidæ (of which sciæna is the type).
